Nexus 10 – First Impression!!

Reviews | Thoughts | Uncategorized By 4 years ago

As everyone else i got my piece of beauty on Monday and spend few days with it. My first impression of the device was amazing. Things i noticed within few minutes of unboxing it: –

  • It booted really fast, in fact the fasted boot i have ever seen.
  • Screen is extremely gorgeous.
  • Overall look and feel is 9 out of 10.

Ok, Here are few pros and cons that i noticed so far.

Pros.

  • If you are a reader then this device is your best match.
  • Its running the latest version of Android called Jelly Bean 4.2 and that gives you the power to have multiple users for a single device just like a normal desktop computer.
  • Display is awesome.
  • Battery life is amazing.
  • Apps developed by Google have the best user experience on Nexus 10.
  • Fast and Responsive but don’t take this behaviour for granted.
  • It has mainly built of plastic but that doesn’t look or feel bad, in fact it feels awesome in hand and looks pretty as well.

Cons.

I have read many reviews and they all said that its the best Android Tablet out there because it has a highest resolution. But i feel this resolution is more like a disadvantage than advantage because of the following issues i faced: –

  • Video looks little bit distorted even 1080p ones. YouTube app is awesome but unfortunately  videos don’t look good because of such an high resolution.
  • Icons look distorted as designers never had this much high res in mind while designing the graphics, which is pretty obvious.
  • Not only icons, even apps look ugly on it. For instance Facebook app looks so bad that i stopped using it on Nexus 10.

Other issues: –

  • BIGGEST ISSUE I FACED SO FAR– It froze and restarted 3 to 4 times in last 5 days and that is really bad from a user experience point of view and i am not the only one who is facing this issue.
  • It feels laggy and sluggish sometime not always but sometime is enough for me to count it as a one of cons.

Overall its an amazing tablet or might be the best 10 inch Android tablet out there but i really feel that i should have bought the Nexus 7. Its my personal opinion but if you like your Nexus 10 and think that i missed something then please do share it with me in comments. Mean while i spend more time with it and would write a detailed review in next few weeks.

Cheers!!
