Open System Preferences and load the Keyboard settings and go to the Shortcuts tab, then:

  1. Click add
  2. Select the app you want to apply this to
  3. Type the exact title of the menu item
  4. Click the Keyboard Shortcut box
  5. On the keyboard, press your preferred custom shortcut
  6. Hit Add, then enjoy
